About this event

We warmly invite you to join us for a day of Meditation and Healing, where we will explore powerful meditation methods drawn from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition to support healing on all levels—body, mind, and spirit.

Throughout this day, we will engage with and explore a variety of meditation practices that promote healing, such as those focusing on body and breath, those using visualisation. We also bring in self-compassion exercises. These practices offer effective ways to nourish ourselves and others, enhancing our capacity to meet the challenges of modern life.

Our approach will include:

• Guided visualisation meditations for healing using imagery, sound  and colour

• Calm abiding meditation, shamatha,  as a powerful way to connect with the healing potential within.

• Exploration of how these practices relate to daily life

• Discussion and sharing of experiences in a supportive group setting

• Occasional references to evidence-based research showing the benefits of a variety of methods of meditation on health and wellbeing

Whether you are just beginning meditation or have an existing practice, this day offers an opportunity to reconnect with your inner resources of spiritual resilience and compassion.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Teachers

Rosamund Oliver feels very fortunate to have studied meditation and Buddhist teachings for many years under the guidance of many masters, including completing a three-year full-time retreat. She also drew on her experience as a psychotherapist and founded Deep Listening, an internationally recognised training, bringing dharmic awareness and compassion into how we communicate.

Paul Fairweather teaches meditation and compassion.  He has studied under Buddhist teachers for over 20 years.  He is particularly interested in bringing a spirit of self compassion to the practice and his life, and connecting with mindfulness of the body.  He enjoys walking in nature, particularly walking on hills when it feels as if you can touch the sky.

Rigpa UK’s events and courses offer people, whatever their age, culture or background, an opportunity to explore the understandings and practices found in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition - meditation, compassion and the wisdom of coming to know our own minds – and to bring their benefits into everyday life. For those who are interested, we offer a progressive path of study and practice for anyone who wishes to follow the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni and in particular the Mahayana Buddhist tradition of Tibet.

Rigpa UK is a volunteer-run, independently governed UK charity.
