You are invited to Laughs for Change, an open mic night dedicated to using humor as a powerful tool for social commentary!
This is a space where speakers, storytellers, and comedians can share their observations on topics such as the environment, relationships, mental health, cultural nuances, the rise of AI, and nearly anything related to the human experience through the lens of comedy.
Our goal is to change the perception and dialogue surrounding these important issues by fostering understanding and connection through shared laughter and storytelling.
This event is in collaboration with Nerd Nite Hong Kong, a lecture event that aims at a casual, relaxed, and let’s be honest, slightly inebriated evening of academic fun times. If you have a great time with our evening of laughter, you might find yourself invited to share your thoughts at a Nerd Nite event!
What to Expect:
Open to All: This event welcomes performers from all backgrounds and experience levels to share their insights and humor.
Supportive Community: Connect with fellow speakers and audience members. The event is interactive, encouraging participants to engage with one another and fostering an environment that emphasizes understanding the audience as much as the speakers on stage.
Open Mic Format: Each performer will have up to 6 minutes to showcase their material. All performances will be in English. Limited to 8 spots only.
The door opens at 6:30 and the event will start at 7pm.
