About this event

This seminar will provide the audience with a better understanding of emerging forms of intelligence in biological and social systems, whether human or animal.

In addition to quantitative approaches, Professor Coupé is also promoting the use of first-person approaches in cognitive science, and in particular micro-phenomenological interviewing, which he has used to study relations between carers and patients in healthcare settings. By combining objective and subjective approaches, Professor Coupé proposes a broader vision of intelligence: not as a simple capacity for calculation or adaptation, but as a situated, contextual and relational experience that takes shape in interaction.

His work offers a unique perspective on the way in which living beings make sense of their world, learn, cooperate and evolve together. An approach that profoundly enriches our understanding of the intelligence of living beings, at the crossroads of science, technology and the human being.
