Description

2017 was certainly a big year for blockchain tech. The market price of bitcoin soared to record breaking highs, proving that the cryptocurrency could survive a major upgrade to its software known as SegWit, the emergence of several competing “forks”, and the shutdown of bitcoin exchanges in Mainland China.

Meanwhile, over USD 4 billion equivalent in cryptocurrency was raised in blockchain token sales or initial coin offerings (ICOs) prompting regulators worldwide to publish guidelines and clarifications on the legal status of these crypto-tokens.

As for the enterprise blockchains, Australia’s ASX exchange announced that it would be migrating to a distributed ledger platform built by Digital Asset Holdings and Swiss investment bank UBS declared the launch of a live Ethereum based platform with Barclays and a handful of other banks.

So, what's in store for 2018? Is this the year that crypto-tokens emerge as a major asset class? Will major financial institutions start to roll out blockchain-based applications to their clients? How will the regulatory atmosphere evolve across the world to address the different blockchain platforms and associated tokens?

To find out the answers to these questions and hear predictions from blockchain industry insiders, join us for an panel discussion presented by La French Tech and Gatecoin, a Hong Kong based cryptocurrency exchange.
