Jannie Lai, Director and Head of UX at Light, USA

Jannie Lai is the Director & Head of UX at Light, since 2014. An early member of Light, Jannie established a user-centered foundation to define a friendly yet vibrant UX for the L16, the world's first multi-aperture computational camera. This includes impacting the industrial design and digital experience by infusing insights from photographers and enthusiasts.  

Prior to Light, Jannie was a Senior Director at Citrix Systems where she built and led cross-disciplinary UX teams. She delivered solutions spanning Citrix’s mobile productivity suite, enterprise cloud documents, and mobile device management products--transforming them into award-winning prosumer experiences. Jannie was named an MVP by the Citrix global Sales division, and one of her products won the Best of 2013 Interop Award and Best of Show Audience Choice Award at Mobile World Congress in 2013. As one of the founding leaders of the Citrix Customer Experience team (which encompassed over 200+ designers & researchers), Jannie also spearheaded UX-related Merger & Acquisition due diligence, and UX development with acquired teams and their products.

Prior to Citrix Jannie was one of the first designers at eBay, where she focused on driving product design through extreme growth, from initial product inception through massive adoption both domestically and also internationally.

Jannie is also an active worldwide ambassador in the UX community. She has spoken previously about design leadership, innovation, and design thinking at venues such as CHI, IxDA, and Geek Girl Dinner. She was also a technical mentor for 2013 TechWomen, an initiative of the US Department of State. She has also been a guest speaker at the Master of Software Management program at CMU Silicon Valley Campus, and the DMBA program of California College of Arts. 

Amy Ip - Senior Director from Tencent, China

Amy Ip joined Global Publishing Centre at Tencent Games as Senior Director in July 2015; as a core member of the team she helps setting up the ground work of service design to provide design localization support, player services, collect users feedback and design events to help increase user engagements.

She was the Design Director / Design Expert at Internet Services User Experience(ISUX) Department of Social Networking Group from 2011-15 at Tencent. She was the Head of Social Network Platform Design Center and Cloud Platform Design Center; products she had managed included Qzone, Tencent Cloud, Weiyun, QQ Show, QQ VIP Services and etc. 

Prior joining Tencent, Amy was a Senior User Experience Designer in Microsoft at Redmond, USA; she has participated in various communication and social networking projects including Lync, Windows Live Messenger and Spaces. Amy was also the first Interaction Designer hired at Yahoo! Hong Kong in 2003; she had helped integrating User Experience Design in the development process for Hong Kong and was one of the UX advocates at the Asian offices. She was dedicated in developing design tools and repository to help teams work more efficiently; she had initiated the Pattern Library for Chinese language region during her stay at Yahoo!.

Amy had received her Bachelor Degree in Information and Decision Systems，and a Master Degree in Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University, USA. In the past she had been guest speaker at various universities and industry events including IXDC, ICID Conference, Redesign Design Education Conference and was on the judge panel of Interaction Award at IXDA 2015. She is now a guest lecturer at Hong Kong University SPACE.
