This workshop is the fourth session of the series "Impact Investing: Your Second Act for Purpose and Profit". In this session, Ms. Lillian Li, Executive Director of Social Impact Partners, will share her journey navigating impact investing and charity and startup management. Mr. Kyrus Siu, Director of the Greater China region of The Social Investment Consultancy, will share his extensive experience in organization development, operations management, volunteer management, international development, and humanitarian movement. Together with Ms. Linda Chan, Cofounder of Fullness Social Venture, the speakers will share stories and insight from their day-to-day work.
About the series
The series is designed to introduce social innovation and impact investing through real-life case studies, and to equip participants with basic knowledge and skills to understand and evaluate potential impact investment opportunities. As part of the series, 2 visits will be arranged for participants to meet social innovators and understand their businesses and challenges. Impact investing practitioners will also share their frontline experience and insights. The series is specifically catered for those in search of a purpose-driven career. No prior knowledge in social innovation or impact investing would be required.
About the speakers
Ms. Lillian Li is an experienced professional in impact investing, charity, and startup management since 2008. Currently, she serves as Executive Director at Social Impact Partners and co-founder of Time Capsule. Previously, Lillian held Chief Executive and Director roles at local charities and social enterprises. Her background includes management and marketing in retail and manufacturing. Beyond her professional roles, Lillian contributes as a committee/board member, judge, and mentor for social innovation, business, and youth development programs. She completed the “OSC UBS NGO Leadership Programme” at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2017 and the “Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders” at Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2018.
Mr. Kyrus Siu is the Director in Greater China region. He has extensive experience in organization development, operations management, volunteer management, international development, and humanitarian movement. Kyrus has been devoted to the humanitarian movement for more than 15 years. He has worked on organization development for the IFRC East Asia office previously, and still being an active volunteer leader in Hong Kong Red Cross. He was elected as East Asia representative in the Asia Pacific Youth Network of the IFRC from 2009 to 2014. He is now a member of the Council of the Hong Kong Red Cross. Besides humanitarian, he has also worked for a leading workspace and community for start-ups, so he knows well how to integrate the new start-up elements into a traditional business. Furthermore, Kyrus is appointed as a member of the Human Resources Planning Commission, the Youth Development Commission, the Consultation Panel of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and the Consumer Council by the Hong Kong SAR Government.
Ms. Linda Chan is a seasoned corporate finance lawyer and business executive. Qualified in HK since 2008, she has advised on IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and startup fundraising. Since 2016, she entered the startup ecosystem and served various tech startups, where she gained hands-on experience in business operations and product cycle management. In 2020, she co-founded sehji (寫字), helping social innovation projects in securing funding. Linda has served as a director at Fullness Social Enterprises Society (豐盛社企學會) and co-founded Fullness Social Venture (豐盛社創) in 2023. She is also a course consultant at Faculty of Social Sciences of HKU and co-teaches Digital Governance and Web3 Entrepreneurship.
