Though encumbered with heavy regulations, firms in the financial and professional services sectors must continue to keep pace with changing demands from all stakeholders. So is there a smart balance between customer engagement, brand goodwill, management and regulation? IABC will host a panel discussion, led by senior PR and marketing professionals, to discuss the following:

  • Shift of resources and budget planning
  • How to engage efficiently with key stakeholders
  • What are positive and negative impacts when we go digital?
  • Measuring our PR / marketing efforts

Panelist (by alphabetical order):

Louise Corbett, Head of Marketing Communication, Asia Pacific, AIG

Louise is the Head of Marketing Communication in Asia Pacific at AIG. In her role she is responsible consumer and commercial product communications, the AIG Corporate Brand and Thought Leadership initiatives throughout the Asia Pacific region. Having started her career with Insurance Australia Group (IAG) in Sydney, Australia, Louise moved to the Middle East in 2009 for 3.5 years. Louise has been with AIG for 3.5 year now joining AIG Singapore in 2012 as the Head of Corporate Communications and in 2014, Louise relocated to Hong Kong with AIG to take on her current regional role.

Simone Wheeler, Global Head, Group Communications, CLSA.

Over the past two decades, Simone managed the reputations, cultures and brands of some of the world’s leading multinationals and innovative start-ups in the finance, asset management, technology, media and FMCG sectors.

Simone is global head of communications for CLSA, Asia's leading insights-driven capital markets and investment group owned by CITIC Securities, China’s leading investment bank. Previously, she led APAC marketing for Factiva, the Dow Jones business intelligence platform, and Asiaweek magazine owned by Time Inc. Prior to Hong Kong, she worked in Bangkok at Leo Burnett implementing communications campaigns across SEA for global FMCG brands including RayBan, McDonalds and Heineken.

A specialist in corporate affairs, reputation management, media and analyst relations, financial communications, employee engagement, citizenship, sustainability, brand and corporate identity. Simone is a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Network. She provides funding and time to charities in Hong Kong, China and Cambodia.

Grace Zhang, Partner and Head of China, Newgate Communications

Grace is a founding partner of Newgate. She specialises in financial communications, corporate reputation, media relations and crisis management. She has over a fifteen’s years of experience handling domestic Chinese clients and foreign MNCs in equal measure, covering the full range of international institutional media through to local HK media, domestic PRC business and ministry press.

Grace has a master degree in Economics in HKUST and also an EMBA in Chicago University, Booth Business School.

Genevieve Hilton, Head of External Communications, Corporate Affairs Asia Pacific, BASF

Genevieve Hilton has worked in corporate affairs and sustainability in Asia Pacific since 1994, primarily in Vietnam and Hong Kong. She has worked at BASF since 2008. In her current role she is responsible for stakeholder engagement, crisis readiness, online communications, media relations, sustainability reporting, corporate publications, and channel management for 18 markets in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining BASF, she was most recently Senior Vice President, Client Services, at Ketchum Greater China. She is also Vice President, Professional Development for the Hong Kong Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, and is the recipient of the IABC Excellence Award for contribution to the communications profession in Asia Pacific.
