About this event

Join us at Community Business Hong Kong Community Connection- Bridging Talent & Opportunity!

At Community Business, we believe social mobility is not just about helping individuals climb the ladder. It's about questioning how that ladder is built, who controls it, and who gets left out.

In unequal societies, mobility isn't just difficult. It can feel like a myth. Meritocracy celebrates individual success while ignoring the systemic barriers that block access to opportunity. Privilege, not just potential, often shapes outcomes.

Our research starts with inequality. We've found that the true barriers to opportunity are not only educational or personal, but structural and social. Financial hardship, limited access to quality education, lack of networks, and entrenched bias combine to shut out talent regardless of ability.

As a follow up to our research, we are looking to dive deeper and co-create solutions to this problem. This session will explore how we can move beyond surface-level solutions to tackle the root causes of inequality and build practical, inclusive pathways that truly connect talent with opportunity.

We are excited to share that this event is sponsored by Linklaters and we are partnering with JSM as our venue sponsor.

Community Business will take pictures and videos at the event for marketing use on our channels such as website, eDMs and social media. If you prefer not to be captured, please let us know at network@communitybusiness.org.

About the Community Business Network

The Community Business Network, an initiative of Community Business launched in 2008, is a unique network of leading organisations committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in Asia. Members work together to understand diversity and inclusion issues pertinent to the region, share and develop best practices and impact positive change.

With meetings, events and projects facilitated by Community Business, DE&I and HR professionals meet regularly to network, learn, and share best practices – and ultimately, to drive positive change in their organisations. Through Community Business Network, individuals establish a strong network of relationships and deepen their understanding of diversity and inclusion in the Asia region - enabling them not only to perform better in their roles as diversity practitioners but also to drive their company’s strategy forward.
