Description

At Hack | Help we set-up ideation sessions with top professionals from diverse backgrounds to design and execute solutions to our world's most pressing problems. Each session presents a problem that addresses existing humanitarian needs from on-the-ground professionals. In turn, we work together to prescribe holistic solutions-- and then we do something about it.

At our February 3rd session, we will be ideating for the ongoing Roghinya crisis.

On 25 August 2017, a series of coordinated attacks took place in Rakhine State in Myanmar prompting the mass exodus Rohingya to flee across the border into neighboring Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The UN estimates the number fleeing may reach 1 million– effectively the exodus of the entire Rohingya population of Myanmar. The Rohingya are entirely reliant on the international community to meet their daily needs: from food, shelter, clean water and healthcare. International resources are limited AND a peaceful return to Myanmar is not yet within reach. The international community is approaching 2018 with a plan to construct an ecosystem where the needs of the nearly 1 million refugees can be better met while awaiting for peace back home.
