Hot Club de Hong Kong

Hot Club de HK focuses on vintage 30’s - 40’s France's gypsy jazz. Inspired by Django Reinhardt - the father of gypsy jazz, the band adopts his arrangement styles, playing techniques to interpret various genres of music. From European traditional to American songbooks; swing to bossa nova; film music to pop… Hot Club de HK devotes to build gypsy jazz community in Hong Kong, and present the beauty of gypsy jazz music.

The only active Gypsy Jazz band in town! Formed by Simon Choi, Neil Lau (Guitarist); Sing Pun (Guitarist); Bob Pang (Violinist) and Vera Cura(Double Bassist). Hot Club de Hong Kong可能是香港唯一活躍的法式吉卜賽爵士(Gypsy Jazz/Jazz Manouche)樂隊，為你呈獻上世紀三四十年代嘅巴黎韻味。

Hot Club de Hong Kong由本地樂隊Cowhead與Blaster兩位結他手Simon Choi與Neil Lau，兩個畢業於香港教育大學音樂系嘅小提琴手Bob Pang 、結他手Sing Pun和低音大提琴手Vera組成。成員們彈奏各音樂類型多年，機緣巧合下認識到嚟自法國嘅吉卜賽爵士樂，被深深吸引，於是組成Hot Club de Hong Kong。

樂隊演奏風格啟發自吉卜賽爵士奠基者Django Reinhardt及Stéphane Grappelli，以三十年代巴黎風格為基調，糅合美式爵士、拉丁節奏，以原聲結他同小提琴演奏一系列吉卜賽爵士及爵士標準曲。

現時世界各地皆有Hot Club，向Hot Club de France的Django Reinhardt致敬。Hot Club de Hong Kong致力在香港普及吉卜賽爵士樂、建立爵士樂社群、為本土音樂注入新元素。
