Description
Hong Kong Service Jam is a design-driven hackathon (designathon), it's part of a global movement of jams taking place over one weekend in cities across the globe. If you are student, non-design background, whichever profession, join us to design and prototype a new (government?) service.
It is a Global designathon
Global Service Jam is a three-day, intensive workshop, although playshop might be a better word. It’s part of a movement of design-driven hackathons, we call them jams, which is happening on one weekend in cities across the globe. In short, we’re bringing together all kinds of people to design, prototype and present a service in a weekend.
This time: Global GovJam
The Global GovJam is unique for its focus on public services – any services which are provided by the state, or paid for by our taxes. We Jam to understand and meet the needs of citizens and the people who serve them.
You will try, mess up, struggle, keep going, have fun!
Get excited about an idea. Put all your effort behind it. Run up against the wall. Work with new people. Build up your thinking, then make it work in a weekend. On Saturday morning you’ll be up to your ears in post-its, and on Sunday you’ll have a finished service.
Agenda
Saturday 9am to 10pm
Meet up with all other jammers. Work in teams. Research the problem. Talk to users. Maps and sketch solutions. Make rough prototypes. Make fancy prototypes. Make mistakes. Have fun.
Sunday 9am to 5pm
Keep talking to using. Keep building your idea. Keep prototyping. Concoct a business model. Present your prototype. Win a prize. Celebrate.
