Description
Every year, First Code Academy (http://firstcodeacademy.com/) hosts a global competition called the AppJamming Summit (http://www.appjammingsummit.org/) to encourage teens to create innovative Android apps. The winners will earn a chance to compete at MIT App Inventor Summit 2015. Last year we had 3 students from Hong Kong competing in the contest at MIT. How did they do? You can view it here or below.
We're hosting Girls Can Code AppJamming in Singapore this year to encourage and inspire more teen girls to try out coding, either as a training for logical thinking and problem solving or a first step to their engineering career. We believe that coding is the new literacy, and we can all have fun while learning how to code.
Join us at this wonderful one-day workshop led by our founder, Michelle Sun, who used to be a Growth Hacker at a Silicon Valley startup Buffer. We will learn about basic programming concepts, develop crazy ideas, and build apps together!
Just a reminder, all participants will have to bring their own laptop and charger to the workshop. No prior programming experience is needed.
