Join us for this interactive workshop to explore why change can be so difficult, even when we are all convinced we need it!
About this event
The Fresk of the Human Factor helps identify the bias and factors that slow us down in a transformation process, and start to think about how to reverse them.
UN Sustainable Development Goal #6 is to provide water and sanitation for all. Water is at the heart of our environmental, social and economic challenges: climate resilience, regenerated biodiversity, sustainable living, fair wages, social justice are all dependent, in a way or another, on safe and prosperous water resources, both freshwater and ocean ecosystems .
Despite a clear emergency to act, our water demand and usage continue to exacerbate water scarcity, social distress and climate crisis. However, changing our relationship to water is not that simple and does not depend only on our sole individual or collective will. A number of human factors related to our skills, beliefs, emotions, our biases or habits act as brakes or accelerators on change.
These human factors determine our ability to act. Being able to cast the light on them, becoming aware of them and measuring their impact will facilitate action and behavioral change.
In the frame of International water Day, we are organizing a Human Factor Mural around the topic of sustainable water consumption.
The Fresk of the Human Factor is:
- an insightful collaborative game introducing and leveraging cognitive science notions
- a diagnosis tool of hurdles and levers that can come in our way while navigating change
- a starting point in an individual and collective transformation journey.
How does it work?
It is a 3-hours workshop with 8 to 10 participants from various horizons. Participants, led by a facilitator, reflect about a behaviour they all wish to change; and are led to understand the role that emotions, biais and other factors play in changing our behaviours.
👉 On the agenda
- Welcoming participants
- Definition by the group of the behaviour they wish to change
- Understanding of emotions and cognitive biases preventing us from adopting a new desirable behaviour
- Short break
- Collectively identify the levers on which to act to develop the capacity to change
- Debrief and key take aways
- Individual commitments on actions to implement to enable a change in behaviours.
