About this event

Join us for an 1.5 hour information session in which you will:

• Experience what mindfulness is all about

• Discover the use of mindfulness for effective stress reduction

• Learn about the origin and history of MBSR

Mindfulness meditation has received attention in the media and research. It has been effectively used as a complimentary approach to traditional medicine and psychotherapy. Mindfulness is a secular form of meditation that is based on thousands of years of wisdom traditions.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is one of the most researched and well-respected evidence based mindfulness programs. The program provides participants with the opportunity to engage in formal MBSR mindfulness meditation practices, as well as investigation of themes of perception, automatic, habitual stress reactivity, mindfulness-mediated stress response, and interpersonal communication.

About your instructor: Michelle is a finance professional who started her wellness journey in 2009 when she got a break to seek a healthier lifestyle. She first started with Qigong and was later introduced to Mindfulness Stress Based Reduction (MBSR) in 2016. She maintains a regular practice that includes regular attendance in silent meditation retreats over the past several years. She has successfully completed MBSR Foundations, which fulfils one part within the MBSR Teacher Training Level 1 that is recognized by Mindfulness Center at Brown University.
