Complimentary Workshops (Recommended for those who haven't tried coding before)
This workshop uses Scratch, a block-based programming tool developed by the MIT Media Lab, to give our students a hands-on first try on programming. Learn key computer science concepts such as sequences, loops, conditionals and abstraction by building their own fun projects of animated stories and multimedia games.
Come to our Scratch workshop to create your own animations and games!
Explorer & Creator AppJamming
In our AppJamming workshop, students get to design and build their very own mobile apps and games. This AppJamming workshop teaches them how to problem solve using App Inventor 2 (developed by MIT) as a language. Students will receive personal guidance from our professionally trained instructors in thinking through algorithms, decomposing problems and formulating multiple solutions.
Try out the easy programming basics of app building!
Recommended for ages 6-8
This parent-child Hopscotch workshop is designed for young children not yet familiar with the computer to have some programming fun with Hopscotch, an iPad app that allows you to create animations, stories, and games with easy-to-use blocks, color-coded functions and quirky characters that are particularly appealing to 6+ years old kids. Students practice giving commands to the characters, exploring programming and mathematical concepts and enjoying creating interactive artwork in the process.
Curious about what your child can learn? Join the Parent-Child Hopscotch Workshop.
