【Delightful Design】Finding the Commons (Online workshop)
Do you ever wonder how to create a happy community? Join Islanders on an exploration of the unique culture of Peng Chau. 40-minutes away from busy Central, you'll find a place living its own rhythm. Through the workshop, Islanders will prepare a map for participant, to lead you to observe and discover the unique culture of commoning. Through your eyes and ears, mark your findings on the map and get a better understanding of how people connect to their territory and neighbours, and what you can take back home from your learning!
The workshop will be conducted under 3 phases:
Part 1 (26 Mar): Introduction (conducted by Zoom)
Part 2 (April – 8 May)*: Participants will explore Peng Chau separately and individually using the map designed by Islanders within a month and record the findings and observations.
Part 3 (14 May): To share the observations with Islanders and other participants (tentatively conducted by Zoom; Sharing Session may be held in Peng Chau when the pandemic situation is relieved and the anti-epidemic measures are conditionally relaxed. More details will be updated at Introduction Session)
*Participants are highly recommended to explore Peng Chau when the pandemic situation is relieved and please follow the precautionary measures and regulations set by the HKSAR government when exploring in Peng Chau. The workshop may be adjusted or altered depending on the pandemic situation, please stay tuned at Design Spectrum’s platform for latest updates.
Remarks:
- Application is on first-come, first-served basis.
- Introduction and Sharing session will be conducted on Zoom and meeting details will be shared by email.
- Participants are required to prepare their own computer or other device with the Zoom Cloud Meetings app to participate.
- If participants are unable to attend the workshop due to illness or other special circumstances, participants are allowed to transfer their places once.

【給快樂的設計】偵查有機社區 (線上活動)
你有沒有想過如何創建⼀個快樂的社區? 來與島⺠⼀起探索坪洲的獨特⽂化!距離繁忙的中環 40 分鐘船程,你會找到⼀個擁有⾃⼰節奏的地⽅。透過工作坊,島民將為每位參加者準備一份地圖,帶領參加者跟住地圖在島上邊行邊觀察並發掘⼀種獨特的共有⽂化。過程中透過眼睛,耳朵,將你的發現在地圖標示起來,從而更好地了解⼈們如何與他們的⼟地和鄰居建立聯繫,並將你學習到的東西帶回家以及分享!
工作坊將分三階段進行:
第一部份 (3月26日):簡介會 (以Zoom進行)
第二部份 (4月- 5月8日)*: 參加者將自行安排日程,在建議的時段內根據島民設計的地圖指示探索坪洲,並把觀察紀錄下來。
第三部份 (5月14日):與島民以及其他參加者一同分享所見所聞。(暫定以Zoom進行;如屆時疫情放緩,社交限聚等防疫措施已進一步放寬,分享會將有機會改為在坪洲進行,參加者請留意大會於簡介會的最新通知。)
*大會建議參加者可待疫情放緩情況下才自行到坪洲探索,而探索期間亦請遵守政府所規定的防疫措施及限聚指示。大會亦不排除因應疫情情況而調整/延後工作坊,請緊貼設計光譜各平台以接收最新資訊。
備註:
- 本活動以先到先得方式安排。
- 簡介會以及分享會將在Zoom 平台進行,大會將以電郵通知參加者該次活動的Zoom會議資料。
- 參加者須自備電腦或具有Zoom Cloud Meetings 應用程式的移動設備以網上參與工作坊。
- 如因病或其他特殊情況未能出席工作坊,參加者可以將名額轉讓一次。

Based on Peng Chau, Kit Chan and Myriem Alnet created the map-zine Islanders to enquire into islands and promote sustainable lifestyles respectful of the territories where they anchor. They conduct urban research work and offer cultural activities that aim at deepening participants’ understanding of the island.
由坪洲出發,Kit Chan 和 Myriem Alnet 創建了地圖 雜誌《Islanders》,以探索島嶼並以一種尊重他們所在土地的方法促進可持續生活方式。 他們開展城市研究工作並策劃旨在加深參與者對島嶼了解的文化活動。
About Design Spectrum
Design Spectrum is a new initiative by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) to foster a good design culture in the community. Located in a revitalised cluster of Grade 2 historic buildings at 7 Mallory Street, Wan Chai, Design Spectrum features year-round exhibitions, exchanges, design appreciation and other promotion programmes to cultivate a creative atmosphere, while nurturing local creative capital. It serves as a unique public face for HKDC to strengthen linkages with the community and partners locally, in other cities of the Greater Bay Area, ASEAN cities and overseas, and contributes towards creative and cultural tourism.
