Come join us for a night of conversation, career introspection and general DeFi information where we chat with three Ivey Business School and Western University graduates about how and why they pivoted their careers for this once in a generation opportunity.

As cryptocurrency and blockchain continue to become more mainstream, if you haven’t gotten up to speed on all things crypto over the last few years, now may be your chance to hear what it's all about amongst friends!

Hosted by the Ivey Business School at Western University Alumni Association in Hong Kong, this event is open to both alumni and non-alumni. Due to COVID restrictions, this event is limited to 30 people, so if you sign up, please make every effort to attend. Registrations can be cancelled via Eventbrite and waitlisted individuals will be automatically invited.

Panelists

Marco Lim

Marco has over 14 years of experience overseeing electronic sales and trading operations in institutional fixed income, commodities, currencies with major financial institutions. Prior to joining MaiCapital, a Hong Kong-licensed blockchain-focused asset manager, he was the Head of North Asia Fixed Income, Commodities, Currencies and Electronic Distribution for Goldman Sachs Asia LLC. Marco is the co-fund manager for the Blockchain Opportunity Fund and the fund manager for the Bitcoin Plus Investment Fund. Marco received his Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies degree in Finance and Administration with a minor in Economics from Western University in 2003.

Yang He

Yang is the founder and CEO of Aspen Digital, a crypto asset management platform for institutions and asset managers. Yang began his career on Wall Street and now has over 10 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity and corporate development. Yang holds a BA in Honours Business Administration, class of 2012, from the Ivey Business School at Western University.

Calvin Luk

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Toronto, Calvin has over 8 years experience in sales and operations for corporations and startups across banking, e-commerce and crypto verticals. Most recently he has been helping to grow and develop an NFT marketplace at Refinable, a platform that offers customizable solutions and dedicated spaces for brands to showcase and distribute their content. Calvin received his Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies degree from Western University in 2011.

Moderator

Francis Pun

Francis is a crypto-meddler and finds the crypto Kool-Aid irresistibly fascinating on several levels: financially, macro-economically and socially. Currently, he is the Ecosystem and International Development Lead for the Incubation and Acceleration Programs at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, a leading deep-tech innovation ecosystem in Asia. Previously, Francis spent over 20 years with tech multinationals in various strategic program development roles at companies including Dell, Cisco and TE Connectivity. Francis has a BASc degree in mechanical engineering from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. He is also Co-chair of the Innovation Committee at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in HK and is active with both the UBC and Ivey alumni communities locally.
