Is this the same as Forest Bathing? Will I need to bring clothes to swim with?

Accepted Answer

Forest Therapy is similar to Forest Bathing in that you will receive the physiological benefits of the practice such as a decrease in stress, blood pressure, a relaxed mood, etc. Where it differs is that Forest Therapy also focuses on relationships, to yourself and with nature.

Is Forest Therapy safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes, forest therapy is safe. We urge caution as anything could happen in nature, but each space chosen to do a walk is inspected for safety purposes. Read the section about how to prepare and always be aware of the environment you're in.

Question 3

What should I bring/wear?

Accepted Answer

Be prepared for a 2 hour session. Depending on where you choose to do the virtual forest therapy session, you can bring the following: Clothes for the weather, footwear that has grip, back-up battery, drinks, snacks, a journal/pen, something to sit/lay down with, sun screen and bug spray.

Is there anything I need to do before the session starts.

1. Please fill out the liability and model release form on the event page. 2. Download Zoom onto the device you'll use 3. If you choose to go somewhere on your own, inform someone else 4. If you have any medical issues that could affect your safety, please let us know.

Where should I choose to do the forest therapy at?

Accepted Answer

You can choose wherever you'd like to participate in forest therapy, even at home. Choose a safe place, that has a connection to the internet, and may resonate with you. Yes, ideally it is in nature, though if you choose your home, a backyard, a windowsill, and/or with a plant can also work.
