As part of the Fête de la Science 2025, we are screening a French documentary on the theme of intelligence: ‘Notre intelligence dévoilée’ by Amine Mestari. Intelligence seems to be in decline. Several studies on the IQ of populations confirm this... But why? Is IQ enough to explain this extraordinary human capacity, which has enabled us to dominate nature? Between the innate (genetic) and the acquired (role of the environment, education and learning), numerous scientific disciplines are dissecting our intellectual capacities.
So what is the real nature of intelligence? Beyond that, some people are trying to “boost” our neurons. A transplant of human brain cells into mice has increased their capacity tenfold... an experiment that, among other things, is giving researchers clues as to how to improve our abilities. At the end of a fascinating journey through the intricacies of our brains, we finally discover that human beings possess several types of intelligence, of which creativity is one of the most original and singular forms.
Amine Mestari is a French film-maker renowned for his committed and well-documented approach to reality. His work explores complex issues with rigour and sensitivity. He has made a name for himself with the documentary ‘Notre intelligence dévoilée’, in which he examines the workings of human intelligence, combining cognitive science, artificial intelligence and a reflection on our common future.
