Family Day: A Fun Introduction to Earth Building
A family-friendly day that’s all about play, creativity, and getting in touch with nature. This relaxed and interactive workshop is ideal for children and families to explore natural building materials, create art, and try out basic building techniques in a fun, creative environment.
What to Expect:
Our Earth Art Family Day includes a mix of hands-on, sensory, and creative activities that bring children closer to nature:
- Mixing up muddy magic! We start by dancing and mixing our own earth and straw to create a strong adobe mix — a fun, squishy sensory experience.
- Brick making: Using mini (or full-sized) molds, children shape their own adobe bricks from the mix they’ve made.
- Mini wall building: We demonstrate how to lay bricks and apply mortar to build a small wall together.
- Mud art: Each child creates a 3D artwork on canvas using clay, foraged natural materials, and natural pigments.
