ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Ian Wooden
Managing Director and CEO of IJW CO. Ltd

Ian Wooden is the Managing Director and CEO of IJW Co., Ltd. Since 2004, he has advised over 100 national and global corporations in a multitude of industries with business services including corporate divestiture, management buyout, employee stock options, and corporate acquisitions.

Mr. Wooden has made significant contributions to the M&A profession in Canada. He is co-founder and board member of the M&A Club, a networking group comprising 7 chapters with over 300 merger and acquisition professionals and corporations. In 2013, he was awarded Top 40 under 40 by M&A Advisor in the Dealmaker category.

Mr. Wooden holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from the John Molson School of Business, graduating with distinction, and holds a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation. In 2002, he was inducted into the Golden Key Society.
Drew Dorweiler

Drew Dorweiler enjoys over 30 years of experience in the valuation of hundreds of privately & publicly-held companies in business valuation, corporate finance & litigation support mandates on a global basis. He has frequently participated as a financial advisor in corporate acquisitions, divestitures & start-up businesses & in sourcing financing in North America & internationally.

He has testified as expert witness in more than 25 cases before Quebec Superior Court, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, U.S. District Court, Tax Court of Canada, Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta & arbitration panels in high-profile, complex financial litigation & valuation matters.

Drew is recognized as one of North America's pre-eminent valuators of professional sports franchises & properties. His valuation & transaction repertoire includes NHL, MLB, NBA, CFL, English Premier League, European & semi-professional sports teams, arenas, broadcasting & naming rights.

Drew was elected to Board of Trustees of The Appraisal Foundation for 2013-2015 and 2016-2018 terms & to Board of Directors of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators from 2006-2009. Named Fellow of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2013.

Drew graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Economics, Dartmouth College. He obtained a dual MBA, Corporate Finance and Accounting, Lubin Graduate School of Business, Pace University.

Pádraig has assisted multinationals and other corporates on a range of corporate procedures, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, voluntary liquidations and joint ventures. Pádraig also assists clients with fund formation for capital raising in Asia, and deployment of capital into projects in Asia-Pacific, the US and Europe. This crosses a range of private equity, venture capital and project fund raises.

Leveraging the TMT focus of Bird & Bird, Pádraig assists companies going through growth cycles and investment rounds. This includes assistance on investment discussions, capital structuring, incentive schemes, asset protection, and corporate acquisitions. Pádraig acts as mentor in a number of incubation and accelerator programmes.

Pádraig’s practice also includes assisting clients on licensing, regulatory and compliance issues that arise in Hong Kong. In addition, Pádraig advises and represents clients responding to inquiries or proceedings by regulators inHong Kong.

Pádraig qualified as a Solicitor in Ireland in 1998 and in Hong Kong in 2000.
