Introduction

The idea of UX, or User Experience, is not new but continues to be a sore point for designers and end users. UX design is more than creating good looking products but products that are convenient to use and ensure the users a satisfactory digital journey. It is also about understanding what the target users need through various researches and design thinking. UX designers should have the ability to alter how users interact with the information and how they navigate your design.

Join us in this 2-hour workshop and practice how Design Thinking make your product more human-centred, innovative and successful, followed by some introductions to UX/UI collaboration tools like Adobe XD and the Marvel App. We also offer a 6-week UX/UI course, so this workshop serves as an excellent opportunity for you to meet with the trainer and explore how UX/UI can open up your upcoming career aspects in the market.

How to understand the problem from your customer's perspective;
How to effectively brainstorm innovative ideas;
How to create prototypes to test your new ideas before investing a lot of time and money.

Prerequisite

No previous UX understanding is necessary.

Workshop Highlight

In the first hour, experience how a design thinking process can facilitate User Experiences (UX). We will walk you through some of the free online collaboration tools for UX/UI design digital products. You can get more information about the 6-week UX/UI course in the Q&A session too.

Get Ready

Bring along your laptop with Adobe XD installed. You can also play around Marvel app at home before you come. Wear some comfortable clothes and engage in some interactive sessions on Design Thinking activities.

Trainer’s Biography

Mr. Ken Yiu has joined the education industry since 1998. Over the 20 years teaching life, he has taught a variety of subjects including art, design, computing, programming, interactive, electronics and UX. He has worked for Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Art School, and Savannah College of Art and Design Hong Kong. He received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) in 1998 and M.Sc. in New Media from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002. Besides tertiary institutes, Mr. Yiu has also held corporate training for local government and companies, like Information Services Department, Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Advanced Printing Technology Centre.
