About this Event
Widely-regarded as an old fashioned craft, THS teacher Agnes Lee is hoping to bring embroidery back in vogue. But why learn embroidery? In addition to honing your child’s coordination skills by learning the fundamentals of hand embroidery with the cross stitch, satin stitch, and hemming stitch, skills learned from embroidery also nurtures creativity and ingenuity. It gives students the ability and confidence to tackle their own projects such as creating their own embroidery patches for jeans, shirts and bags. Embroidery is also a social activity that can be incredibly fulfilling, perfect for children of all ages. During the summer class, students will have the opportunity to work in groups to create a final embroidery piece de resistence whilst older students with more advanced skills will be introduced to more techniques.
This course is open to ages 11- 16
