Earth.Org Talks: An Online Conversation with Erin Spencer
About this event
On April 21, Earth.Org will be having an online conversation with Erin Spencer, a marine ecologist and National Geographic Explorer, who is debuting a picture book on the importance of coral reefs. As a National Geographic Explorer, she has traveled over the world to learn how communities can work together to protect our ocean’s fisheries. Erin has also worked with a number of educational programmes to encourage young women in STEM fields in hopes to inspire the next generation of marine ecologists.
In this fireside chat, we will discuss her journey as a marine ecologist, her experiences and work in marine conservation, the state of the world’s coral reefs and their importance, and her process of writing and putting together her children’s book, The World of Coral Reefs.
