【DX design hub | Beautiful Craft】Jive Lau Neon Light Sharing Session

The presentation by Jive Lau - founder of Kowloneon, divide into two parts :

(1) Focused on the history, techniques, and future potential of traditional glass neon craftsmanship. And (2) Live tour guide of the exhibition artworks.

Through the cultural exchange projects between the Czech Republic and Hong Kong, we explored two distinct glass crafts and created diverse works. This blending of traditional techniques and colors provided fresh creative inspiration. Such international collaboration holds great significance.

Bio of the Instructor: Jive Lau

Lau has dedicated himself to studying traditional neon sign-making techniques and uses traditional neon signs as a medium for his creations. Lau has traveled to Taiwan to learn from master neon sign makers and upon returning to Hong Kong, he established Kowloon Neon in 2021. Through offering workshops on neon sign making and creating artworks, he exhibits his works in various institutions and galleries. Lau collaborates with different creative units and artists to explore the versatility of neon lights and promote the precious craftsmanship that neon signs represent in Hong Kong.

黑色暴雨警告 Black rainstorm warning:

若本館經已開放，則開放時間維持不變。若黑色暴雨警告在本館開放前經已生效，本館將不會開放，直至黑色暴雨警告除下。若黑色暴雨警告於下午2時前除下，設計館將會在3小時內重新開放；如警告於 下午2時或其後 除下，設計館當日將不會開放。

If the warning is issued during normal opening hours, The hub will remain open.

The hub will resume service within three hours if the warning is cancelled before 2pm; if the warning is cancelled at or after 2pm, the hub will remain closed for the day.
