In your face
Faces are hard to draw. Right? Wrong. This month we’ll challenge on of the biggest misconception in art: that you have to be good to draw faces. What are emoticons if not terribly drawn, utterly simplistic, utterly emotive faces. We’re breaking down our inhibitions and giving faces a go. If you’re still worried about compiling eyes, nose and mouth to make something recognizable, go decorative. We’ve imported blank masks from abroad (okay, a factory in china) to become your canvases for the night. You can do it. Draw a face! And do it at Draw by Night.
We're awesome, join us.
Draw by Night is a public event series that brings the drawing and wanna-be-drawing community of Hong Kong together. Anyone who likes line, shape and color is invited to join and draw their hearts out. No skills required.
On the Street.
As always, we’ll settle in at the corner of Hollywood Road and Shing Wong Street. It’s outside, but there’s a restroom nearby, and the heat’s not nearly as bad as you think it’d be.
Under the stars.
Well, we hope so. If we get bad weather the party will be postponed to the following week. Keep in the loop regarding changes by signing up on [Eventbrite], [Facebook], or to our [mailing list].
Bring yourself, your friends and anyone you pass along the way.
And it costs $0.
The event is free to attend and open to everyone (even people who stumble upon us on their walk home. We’ll have a cooler full of drinks going for $20 a piece, to help us cover the cost of the party.
Register for a ticket if you’re coming (it helps us plan). Come even if you forgot to register.
