Welcome to The 852 International Dragon Boat Team Open Day!

Whether you are a seasoned paddler or just dragon-boat curious, join us to try this iconic Hong Kong sport - a full-body workout rooted in cultural tradition and one of the most social sports around!

Perfect your stroke and refine your technique with our hands-on session; then enjoy the social side as we make new friends together!

[ Open Day Itinerary ]

3:15 - 3:55 PM | Welcoming + land training on paddling technique
4:00 - 4:55 PM | On-water paddling session
5:00 PM onward | Debrief + refreshments & socializing


[ Participation Fee ]

HK$250 (Early Bird: HK$200 if registered on or before May 31)
Includes training, drinks & refreshments. Full rebate if you join the team package that day.


[ Note ]

- Limited boat capacity - first come, first served.

- Pack light : quick-dry athletic clothes, gym gloves, a bottle of water, sun protection (sunscreen, cap, sunglasses etc), towel, barefoot / watersport shoes / flip flops, dry cloths to change. Bags stored unattended; only essentials (phone/wallet) in waterproof bag during water session.

What does the fee of HK$250 include? (Early bird HK$200 if registered on or before 31-May)

Your payment covers 1-hour introductory dragon boat training, on-water session (limited spots available due to boat capacity), post-training refreshments and social drinks. Note: Fee rebate if you join the team that day!

What should I wear/bring?

Wear: Quick-dry athletic clothes, watersport shoes/flip-flops, sunscreen, sunglasses/cap, and gym gloves (optional). Bring in the boat: A water bottle + small towel (to sit on). Note: Only phones/wallets will be stored in a waterproof bag on the boat; other items remain ashore unattended.

Can I join if I don't know how to paddle?

Yes, absolutely! Our coaches have over 10 years of experience training paddlers of all levels, so you’ll be in great hands. This is the perfect chance to try dragon boating, meet the team, and discover why this thrilling team sport—deeply rooted in Chinese culture—is becoming so popular worldwide!

Can I join if I don't know how to swim?

Dragon boating is a water sport. Non-swimmers are encouraged to wear life jacket during paddling sessions. Please let our coaches know beforehand, and we will ensure you get extra attention and stay comfortable.

Do I need to be super fit to participate?

Not at all! Dragon boating is adaptable to all fitness levels. While it helps to have general fitness, we welcome everyone—our training will help you build strength and endurance over time.

How often does the team train?

We train weekly on Sundays, 4–6pm (water sessions). Full details will be shared at the Open Day.

Can I join the team after the Open Day?

Yes! If you love the session, we’d love to have you. We’ll explain team packages, training schedules, and race commitments during the event.
