DIGITAL TWIN Protocol – How to escape Algorithmic Capture LARP workshop
Overview
Your Digital Twin is a digital {mirage} life avatar of you. Your Digital Twin, like you, is formed of many subpersonalities – some likely to be more dominant or developed than the rest of the chorus. The greater the level of chaos, contradiction and incoherence between the subpersonalities of your Digital Twin, the safer that makes you.
In this Digital Twin protocol, we will be designing, developing and larping some of your Digital Twin’s subpersonalities – and consciously working to make them work together – at the level of your household and your community.
Artist and psychotherapist Bea Xu leads a 4-hour workshop for this messaging-based LARP protocol – the very first presentation of an ongoing work in progress.

What is LARP?
A live-action role-playing game (LARP) is a form of role-playing game in which the participants physically act out their characters’ actions. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting while interacting with each other in character.
The first LARPs were run in the late 1970s in Scandinavia – known as Nordic Larps, inspired by tabletop role-playing games and genre fiction. As LARP diversifies, LARPs may be more game-like or concerned with dramatic expression; they can also be designed to achieve educational or political goals. The fictional genres used vary greatly, from realistic modern or historical settings to fantastic or futuristic eras.
