For surveyors who wish to have a thorough understanding of cost estimating methods and those
have just commenced in the profession, this interactive course delivers practical insights into how
cost estimation can be achieved in a consistent and accurate way. With guidance and practical
instructions based on the Order of Cost Estimating, participants will be able to complete practical
examples in accessing understanding and application of cost estimations by the end of the training.
Programme outline includes: Defining the principles and roles of NRM, demonstrating issues and
exceptions to cost estimates and possible solutions, and a self and peer assessment based on cost
About the trainer
Dr Stanley Chow has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry with specialisation in
QS and Cost Control. He has provided extensive service in the field of professional consultancy and
property developers. Stanley received his Ph.D. in Business Administration, Master Degree of
Science in Construction Management and Economics and Bachelor Degree of Science with Honours
in Quantity Surveying. He is a Fellow member with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and
The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors. Stanley is also a Registered Professional Surveyor in the
Quantity Surveying Division of Hong Kong Surveyors Registration Board and Registered Cost
Engineer in China. He was the Chairman of Assessors of APC panels for RICS in Shanghai for an
extended period of time and is now one of the tutors for RICS training hub in Hong Kong.
