Description
Dervla Louli and the Forks & Spoons are delighted to announce that the charity dinner to launch #CookForSyria in Hong Kong will be held on October 26th at Beef & Liberty. Nine of Hong Kong’s top chefs are uniting to create an eight-course Syrian-inspired feast for 110 special guests to benefit UNICEF’s Syrian Fund for children affected by the one of the largest humanitarian crisis of our time.
Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy dishes prepared by stellar chefs such as Uwe Opocensky (Beef & Liberty), Peggy Chan (Grassroots Pantry), Nathan Green (Rhoda), Nick Chew (Serge et le Phoque), David Lai (Neighbourhood) Agustin Balbi (Haku), Jim Lofdahl (Frantzen's Kitchen), Nicolas Boutin (Epure) and Gregoire Michaud (Bread Elements). The banquet will be a night to remember with delicious cuisine, free-flow drinks, exciting raffle prizes and a live auction.
The global movement #CookForSyria was launched in London in 2016 by Clerkenwell Boy and Serena Guen as a way to raise awareness of the plight of children in the war-torn country and celebrate Syrian culture. Soon after, Chefs Jamie Oliver and Yotam Ottolenghi joined the efforts through a month-long series of supper clubs, bake sales, restaurant donations, pop ups and cookbook sales, successfully raising over £250,000. The movement has since expanded to New York, Australia and will this year be brought to Hong Kong.
