CONTEMPORARY DANCE MASTERCLASS with GISELLE LIU

Spotlight Studio brings you an inspiring dance master class with Hong Kong's most talented contemporary dancer, and choreographer, Giselle Liu. Giselle's portfolio spans more than 20 years across Canada and Hong Kong and we are thrilled to have her expertise for our WERKSHOP series launch.
Be swept away and Giselle's creativity and challenged by her choreography. This class is perfect for aspiring and experienced dancers looking to take the next step in their professional development.

Class is for advanced / professional level dancers. Previous dance experience is required.

ABOUT GISELLE

Giselle Liu received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Giselle’s achievements include Canadian Dancer of the Year, Provincial Champion of Modern Dance and Top 3 in Battle of the Countries. Her portfolio reflects over 20 years of dance training in all major genres as well as dance education for the past nine years. Contemporary, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theatre, acrobatics, stretch and conditioning and progressive dance (technique) are all aspects of her repertoire. Liu's choreography extends to concert and commercial work, she was co-choreographer and personal movement coach for canto pop singer and actress, Fiona Sit's production "A Fiona Sit Music Experience, Picnic Series #01” and music video ‘Don’t let it go.” She works closely as a freelance choreographer with the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation under the direction of Lindsey McAlister, choreographing for Standard Chartered Arts in the Park from 2013-2017 and co-choreographing for musicals ‘A Chorus Line,’ ‘Oliver’ and ‘Blood Brothers.’

As a choreographer, her work is recognized as innovative, creative, motivational and challenging. Her aesthetic is enhanced by a distinct language of movement. She believes in using fundamentals to enhance the minds and bodies of her students by challenging them to exercise creatively, consciously, and continuously to exceed their potential mentally, physically, and technically.
