Participants attending this course will become better equipped at understanding the core
organisation culture of RICS. Details around the five ethical principles that underpin the way RICS
members conduct business and its relations to RICS regulatory framework will be examined in detail.
Using case studies and discussions of questionable “situations”, ethical questions will be evaluated
and applied to how they also connect with the five ethical principles of RICS.
Programme will be presented in following sessions: Ethical principles, RICS ‘Rules of Conduct’,
personal values and professional ethics, and lastly the cultural environment. Those working towards
APC are recommended to attend.
About the speaker
Mr Gary Man has more than 28 years of professional experience in valuation and in the consultancy
field. He has engaged in a number of assignments covering the Asia-Pacific region, India and
Kazakhstan. Gary has serviced many International and PRC clients such as China Everbright Limited,
Coca Cola, Deutsche Bank, Exxon Mobile, Roche Pharmaceutical, J.P. Morgan, etc. Currently, he is
a board member of the RICS Asia Board, Chairman of the RICS Asia Business Valuation Committee,
and a committee member for the RICS Global Business Valuation Sub-board and RICS North Asia
Professional Valuation Group. Gary has been honorably granted the Accredited Appointments
Experts and the Registered Assessor for RICS Senior Professional Route. He also contributes to the
academic field and is a regular visiting lecturer at The Hong Kong University, The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University and The ZheJiang University, Hangzhou, The PRC.
