Overview

MITS Series of Training and Workshop

Speaker: Dr. WANG Gang

Time: 2:30 pm-4:30 pm, Tuesday, Nov 25, 2025

Venue: CB1217 Meeting Room, Central Building on North Campus, SIP

Online Tencent Meeting ID: 434-621-327

Language: Chinese (中文)

Recommended audiences: All faculty and Doctoral students interested in simulation with COMSOL. At the end of this session, participants will be familiar with simulation workflows. We will also provide attendees access to all resources and demos covered in the talk. If you are a novice, please take the online session, COMSOL Quick Start Tutorial, to achieve the best results.

About Speaker:

Gang WANG, CTO of COMSOL China, holds a Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and conducted postdoctoral research at Fudan University.

With extensive experience in numerical simulation, he has provided technical support and consultation services related to COMSOL Multiphysics in the fields of fluid dynamics, electrochemistry, and chemical engineering for a considerable period.

This session will offer

  • COMSOL introduction
  • Fluid flow and heat transfer simulation
  • Electrochemistry Simulation
  • Optimization
  • Cluster Computing
  • Discussion

Introduction of COMSOL

COMSOL Multiphysics is a simulation platform that includes fully coupled multiphysics and single-physics modeling capabilities. The Model Builder encompasses all the steps in the modeling workflow — from defining geometries, material properties, and the physics that describe specific phenomena to performing computations and evaluating the results. Any combination of add-on products from the COMSOL product suite can be added to the COMSOL Multiphysics software platform. Doing so provides access to specialized features that suit particular modeling needs, available in a user interface that remains consistent, regardless of the engineering field or physics phenomenon.

MITS has purchased a COMSOL software license with several modules. Please visit https://esupport.xjtlu.edu.cn/software/34 for more details.

Please email us at IT@xjtlu.edu.cn with any questions or suggestions about this workshop.

We are looking forward to your participation.
