Tea is the second most consumed product after water. Since the day the divine farmer Shennong had tea leaves blown into his kettle to exclaim “this is the Emperor of all herbs”, tea has travelled all around the world. It has become the foundation of cultures and daily life and is even one of the seven necessities in China.

Tea and Zen have always been “one flavour” as the “Way of Tea” is a bridge to the meditative mind. In Hong Kong, Tea has become centered around ‘yum cha’ and casual tea houses, rather than being a ceremonial practice. In this event we approach Tea through the wisdom of “Cha Dao” and introduce tea as a medicinal and meditative connection.

Moderated by Dervla Louli Musgrave, founder of Compare Retreats, this ongoing series will discuss some of the following and demystify tea as way of meditation, healing and awakened consciousness, as well as sharing how to begin a practice at home.
