Why code for Climate? According to the latest study, the intensity of change in our local climate has changed tremendously. How coder reacts to this and how to act with data science? If you want to contribute to help with the environment or just curious about Data Science, this will be the event you don&#x27;t want to miss. Let&#x27;s save the climate together using Data Science on December 6th! 👨🏻‍💻--------------------------By end of the day, you will: <ul><li>Acquire the basics of earth observation and visualize climate change from global to local scale</li><li>Learn how to precisely predict air quality in your city</li><li>Gather skills to visualize geospatial network analysis for effective urban mobility analysis</li></ul>Agenda:9:30 - 10:00 Check In 10:00 - 11:00 Session 1: Why to code for Climate? 🌍<ul><li>Speaker: Dhritiraj Sengupta, Post Doctoral Researcher. SKLEC, East China Normal University &amp; SC member, IGU’s Commission on Coastal Systems. </li><li>Session Description: Learn about the available tools of advanced geospatial technology enabling everyone to understand and communicate climate change by applying geo data science and Earth Observation techniques. This session will include a demo on global to local scale Earth Observation and geo data acquisition using Google Earth Engine.</li></ul>11:15 - 12:30 Session 2: A better picture on air with big data analytics 🏙<ul><li>Speaker: Dr.Xiafu Shi, R&amp;D manager, Woxford Environmental Technology Ltd.</li><li>Session Description: In this session, you will learn to use Jupyter notebook and various python packages to source air pollution data, explore and process data, and time series analysis to figure out cycles, seasonality, and spatial movement. A demo followed by a hands-on session will enable you to build simple air forecasting tools for your own city.</li></ul>12:30 - 13:30 Lunch Break 🍽13:45 - 14:45 (Continued) Session 2: A better picture on air with big data analytics 🏙15:00 - 16:30 Session 3: Geospatial Network analysis 🌐<ul><li>Speaker: Prof.Fabien, Associate Professor, Sino-European School of Technology of Shanghai University (UTSEUS)</li><li>Session Description: A hands-on session on understanding the basics of network analysis. This session will be focused on geospatial networks i.e roads covering concepts of centrality and how to measure your vehicular CO2 emissions from point A to B. </li></ul>16:30 - 17:00 Social Time 🥳Pre-requisites:<ul><li>No prior coding knowledge needed.
