FoodDealDeal aims to end the dining boredom of university students and help university students explore hidden gems around their campus. Our team aims to analyze the spending behaviour of the untapped GEN Z (born in 1995-2012) via dining.

 

[Artificial Intelligence] The Virtual Mind – Niklas Hageback
The core of our Virtual Mind value proposition is the creation of social 
bots that are able to produce human thought processes, with subsequent
behaviour, based on algorithms replicating the functionality of the 
mind, thereby making them indistinguishable from real humans.

 

[Collaboration Production Management Platform] Borecast – Kev Lai

Borecast is a Collaboration Production Management Platform aiming to reduce significantly the downtime of tunnel boring machine projects by enabling the maintenance forecast and coordination between departments.

 

[E-commerce and Retail SAAS ecosystem] Boxes - Roman Podkorytov

BOXS is the next generation E-commerce and Retail SAAS ecosystem that allows entrepreneurs and SME to create online stores, iOS / Android app, Wechat mini program as well as manage retail stores with BOXS POS and robust integrating functionality. BOXS “Universal Interface” toolset supports instant cross-channel synchronisation and automation by leveraging advanced data management and machine learning technology that significantly increase efficiency and adds value to the business of our customers and partners.

Alvin founded the PacificLink Group in 1998, a leading digital agency that provides professional web, mobile and social media services to industry leaders, including Adidas, Estee Lauder, Philips and Ocean Park. At a scale of over 300 employees and winning hundreds of creative awards, PacificLink was later acquired by Accenture in 2015. Alvin’s serial entrepreneurial stories have been featured in Harvard Business Reviews which later on became a popular case study taught in MBA and EMBA classes around the globe.

In recognition of his achievements, Alvin was awarded the Outstanding ICT Achiever Award in 2012. Recently, he received the Top Outstanding Designer Award 2015 and Capital CEO of the Year 2017.

Since the 2016 establishment of a Venture Capital and Angel Fund, Alvin has been advising ICT companies on how to scale businesses in quick and sustainable ways with his expertise in digital marketing, growth hacking and M&A strategies. He also launched an educational portal a to share and connect with all who are passionate about startup and technology.

Alvin is a guest lecturer for different universities. As a well-sought speaker, he is frequently invited as a speaker or judge at a range of digital and startup events, and has recently appeared as an investor on the pilot episode of the TV show, Path of Victors - Hong Kong’s first startup pitching TV programme. He is also a business advisor and an angel investor to startups in the digital field. In giving back to the community, Alvin also serves as a founding member of Cyberport Investor Network, a director to the Hong Kong Business Angel Network, a council member of HKUST and an advisor to academic departments at several local universities. 

 

Maarten Hooft

Maarten spent over 6 years at Google with 4 of those years on the Android team. On the Android team he was responsible for the European launch of the G1 (first Android phone), and was the technical program manager for the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, and Nexus 7 devices. Maarten has a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and brings to QVP over 12 years experience within Silicon Valley. Maarten has been working in, and advising, both start-ups and large companies. Prior to joining Google, Maarten was working at Mercury software focusing on server side performance tuning, optimization and monitoring.


Sujith Abraham
Group Vice President, APAC and EMEA Strategy & Operations
Oracle

Sujith Abraham oversees Sales Transformation for both Asia Pacific and EMEA. Prior to this role he designed and led the execution of Oracle’s go-to-market model for Asia Pacific. Mr. Abraham has led several large and small organizations across Field and Inside Sales, Marketing and Business Development in both Asia and the United States. Mr. Abraham has been with Oracle since 1997. Abraham holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BS in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
