Cloud watching is a fun activity for children of all ages and a wonderful way to connect to the outdoors from inside the house. Cloud watching is also a useful activity for mindfulness and relaxation. which has significant links to good mental health and wellbeing. 

In this talk, Mr Shun Chi Ming, an expert in aeronautical meteorology and former Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, will share with us about cloud watching in Hong Kong. He will explain the various shapes of clouds and suggest tips for cloud-watching. He will take us on a journey through a collection of magnificent cloud images from local cloud watchers as he shares actionable ideas to help save our planet.

About our Speaker - Mr Shun Chi-ming

Mr Shun graduated as Bachelor of Science, from the University of Hong Kong in 1985, with major in Physics.  He joined the Hong Kong Observatory as Scientific Officer in 1986 and received professional training in nuclear radiation and meteorology in 1986 and 1987 respectively. His subsequent work includes weather forecasting, seismology,

Apart from being the former Director of the Hong Kong Observatory since 2011, Mr Shun is also Chair of the Hong Kong Meteorological Society, Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society, Member of the Executive Committee of the Chinese Meteorological Society and Member of the American Meteorological Society.  He also serves on the Hong Kong Radiation Board and Advisory Committee of the School of Energy and Environment of the City University of Hong Kong.
