Event description

Description

Welcome to Circular Community HK. We are individuals from a whole smorgasbord of industries and skill sets, committed to sharing what we know, and how we know it, with the wider community with the aim of cutting back on the waste we produce in our everyday lives.

Hong Kong landfill statistics show that 43% of that waste is domestic. How do we shift those numbers and the mindsets that drive them?

Our vision is to create a number of events for the public with the help of industry experts to cover everything from kitchen to wardrobe, rethinking waste is the name of the game as we embark on a series of events to help you swap, upscale, mend or recycle everything from your hairdryer to that dress you once wore on a hot summer day in 2012.

The first event up our circular community sleeve is fashion. Sip, sew and smile as we create an evening of wine, wardrobe and wow.

Circular Community HK: Sustainability, Upcycling and the Wardrobe

Session 1 – Fashion

Let’s fashion hard and raise the conscious consumerism flag. We’ll provide fashion and photography pro’s for an evening of:

  • An upcylcing workshop with mentoring from designer Clinton Cordeiro and Sheetai Pritmani
  • Clothes swapping
  • Fashion styling and photo shoots with photographer Alex Macro

Bring your zombie wardrobe pieces that haven’t seen the light of day in months or years (no judgement, we all have skeletons in our closets) to scrap and upcycle, swap or just never have to lay eyes on again.
