Synopsis:

The fourth screening of “Back to the Cinema” is The Apartment (1960), a restored classic by the much-loved Billy Wilder. Tracing the compromises of an ambitious New York insurance clerk who pimps out his apartment for his married bosses’ illicit affairs, this multi-Oscar-winning romantic comedy shows the maestro of comedy at his finest with the magnificent presence by Jack Lemmon and Shirley Maclaine, who both took home the Golden Globe Awards for their distinguished performances.There will be a post-screening discussion with film critic FUNG Ka-ming (in Chinese only). Under government regulations, 80% theatrical occupancy will be implemented. Ticket redemption will start 30-min prior to the screening. Cine Fans who have made the reservation are required to present their e-tickets or paper tickets, along with valid Cine Fan Privilege cards to HKIFF staff for ticket redemption. Tickets not being redeemed 5 minutes prior to the screening will not be hold.
