Overview

Get a taste of the Trinity CertTESOL in this 90 minute online workshop that explores key features of teaching Grammar in the ESL classroom.

This introductory lesson on teaching grammar is taken from the Trinity CertTESOL course and provides a useful opportunity for teachers interested in the CertTESOL to experience a typical lesson.

In this workshop, we will explore:

  • the functions of grammar
  • how to help learners understand how to structure sentences
  • the challenges learners face
  • how this will affect teaching practice

You will also get the chance to get some first-hand experience with the ways that input sessions are delivered on the CertTESOL course, meet a course tutor and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the course.

The Trinity CertTESOL is one of only 2 named courses for Hong Kong's EDB - Primary NET Scheme.

EDB Primary Requirements / Trinity CertTESOL / Cambridge CELTA

For the best experience, attendees should have:

  • a computer or ipad style device (a phone will also work)
  • stable internet access
  • a headset with microphone
  • a webcam

Trainer: Alexandra Rubenstein

Alex has approximately 13 years experience working in the EFL industry in Mainland China, where she has held a variety of positions in teaching and education management. Before joining English for Asia, Alex was a Regional Education Manager at Education First where she oversaw the teaching department across 6 adult training schools in Guangzhou. During this time, she was involved in several national projects related to teacher development and performance management. Alex holds a Trinity Certificate in Tesol and is a candidate for the Trinity Diploma in Tesol. She currently works as an online course tutor.
