Event Intro

Chuen Lung is located on the mid-slope of Tai Mo Shan, with abundant water resources, making it suitable for growing watercress. The paddy field habitat in Hong Kong is rare; here it nurtures rich biodiversity and a unique ecological landscape. It is a paradise for dragonflies, amphibians, birds and insects and it is also home to the rare Hong Kong butterfly, the Chinese peacock. Although a few villagers still farm, they face the crisis of no successors and cultural loss. With urban development and environmental changes, this natural treasure is under ecological threat and requires more people to engage in observation, recording and protection.

This workshop, led by ecological photographer Mr. Colin Pak-kei Ho, uses photography to explore the natural ecology of Chuen Lung and Tai Mo Shan. It consists of three parts: an introduction to ecological photography, outdoor field study, and documentation sharing. Participants will learn photography skills and be encouraged to support biodiversity research and conservation through their own images. Nature enthusiasts eager to tell ecological stories through their lens are invited to join, observe, record, and share, fostering conservation awareness and action.

The instructor said, "I know some happiness does not require much money, such as enjoying nature ecology is a simple joy. I will strive to let everyone fall in love with nature, take beautiful photos, and share happy moments together."
