With the Antinori family, Giacomo Tachis made arguably his three most renowned wines, the Trio of "Original Super Tuscans": Sassicaia, Tignanello and Solaia. At that moment, he might have never thought that years later, he would be called as the father of Italian Wine Renaissance who returned Italian wine to the centre of the international wine stage. Italian wine would not be as successful as it is today wiithout his contribution.
We couldn't deny that Tachis' Super Tuscans set the new benchmark for modern Italian wines. They represent an idea, an idea which views innovation is the ability to see changes as opportunities to grow and improve, instead of a threat to traditions. That was not an easy path for sure, but they had overcome all the challenges and criticism to reach the current height. 50 years after the first commerical release of Super Tuscan in 1971 (Sassicaia), together we will taste all the giants of Super Tuscans in this masterclass and see how far they have come.
