BLOOMBERG SQUARE MILE RELAY HONG KONG 2016
After a record turnout in 2015, the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay returns to Hong Kong on Thursday, 10th November for a third year. Hong Kong’s financial district will once again be transformed into an urban racetrack, as corporate teams compete, not only for the fastest time, but for a cheque worth HK$80,000 for the charity of their choice.
Teams of 10 runners from 120 corporate teams will challenge one another as they navigate their way around the unique one mile (1.6km) course in this ultimate corporate relay race. In 2015, English Schools Foundation (ESF) stormed ahead of reigning champions, Macquarie, posting a blistering time of 51 minutes and 51 seconds which not only won them the title but a new course record for the Hong Kong circuit. During the post-race awards ceremony, ESF were presented with a charity cheque for HK$80,000 which was donated to the Indochina Starfish Foundation.
Bloomberg Square Mile Relay is a global race series which started in London in 2007 before expanding to Singapore in 2013, Hong Kong in 2014 and Shanghai in 2015. This year, Dubai, Sydney and New York have been added to the series which now includes relays in 7 cities worldwide.
