Dr. Meikei Ieong, Chief Technology Officer, ASTRI
Dr. Ieong will share his view on the current state of Enterprise Blockchain adoption here in Hong Kong, and throughout the wider Asia Pacific Region. The attendees will get an insight on where we (HK) are today; where local institutions are taking major strides; and where there might be room for improvement!

Keynote Speaker Profile:

Dr. Meikei IEONG is currently Chief Technology Officer at the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI). He is responsible for setting and executing the overall R&D strategy for the institute. Research initiatives include Next Generation Network, Fintech, Intelligent manufacturing, Health Tech, and Smart City. Dr. IEONG is also acting director for the National Engineering Research Centre for Application Specific Integrated Circuit System.

Prior to this, he held various leadership positions in leading technology companies, including Vice President of TSMC Europe B.V., 28nm R&D Director at TSMC, Taiwan, and senior manager of Exploratory Devices at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY. He was adjunct professor at the Electrical Engineering department of Columbia University, NY.

He holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA degree from the MIT Sloan Fellows Program at MIT School of Management. He has published more than 100 papers in referred journals and conference proceedings and more than 80 patents. His publication has more than 10,000 citations (h-index:56, i10-index: 125)

Dr. IEONG was General Chair of the IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) (2010) and served in the technical committee in many international conferences such as IEDM, VLSI Technology Symposium, EDTM, VLSI-TSA, IWCE. He serves in the Board of Governor of the IEEE Electronic Devices Society (EDS). He is member of the IEEE EDS Electronic Material committee and publication committee. He is also chair of the IEEE EDS Education award committee (2013-present). Dr. IEONG is an IEEE Fellow in recognition of his leadership and contributions to Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) Device Technology.
