Overview

In Hong Kong, it is very common that a construction project is delay in completion and thus Extension of Time is to be prepared, applied and assessed. In my previous seminars/CPDs in relation to EOT, I found that there were around 99% of the projects in Hong Kong are expected to be extended. But why? How to deal with Extension of Time (EOT)?

In this training, you will learn about the Purpose, Contractor’s Obligations in Applying, Notices, Condition Precedent, Time Bar, Timing for Granting, Grounds, Concurrency, Prevention Principle, Time at Large, and Remedy, etc. in relation to EOT.

EOT Reports examples will be circulated for reference and you will learn how to prepare a comprehensive Extension of Time Report.

Last but not the least, a Recent Case Study – a recent, precise and comprehensive large-scale project’s EOT application, details and substantiations, negotiations, assessments, further substantiations, and eventually finalization, shall be detailed point by point so that all might appreciate the complete procedure for a EOT – from a contractor’s application, architect’s and engineer’s assessments, and till finalization.
