Overview

 

Increasingly, contracts for a variety of surveying services are formally tendered by Public sector clients such as Government Departments, NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and Universities. To win these lucrative contracts, organisations and their staff must be able to respond effectively to increasingly complex and challenging tender processes.

 

This course will benefit both SME and National companies seeking to gain a competitive edge to win new work, by increasing their capacity to source, write and respond to Pre-qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Invitation to Tenders (ITTs.)

 

On completion you will gain an understanding of how to:

 

  • Source public sector tender opportunities
  • Manage a bid team and assemble a tender
  • Evaluate PPQs and analyse ITTs
  • Conduct a ‘Bid No Bid Analysis’
  • Structure a client centred message
  • Write high scoring tender answers
  • Differentiate your company offer
  • Meet submission deadlines
  • Compile a Tender Toolkit for future submissions

  • Determining the key principles underpinning all tendering and procurement
  • Current legislation governing tendering and procurement practice.
  • Understanding procurement procedures and practice
  • Evaluating organisational tender readiness and compliance.
  • The production of effective high scoring tender/bid submissions.
  • The effective management of the tender/bid production team.
  • The efficient management of the tender/bid production processes.
  • Planning strategically for improvement in preparation for tendering.

  • Effectively source and respond to tender opportunities for Property & Construction Professional services.
  • Monitor measure and improve your scoring in tender competitions through a structured management and review process.
  • Evaluate organisational tender readiness and compliance.

This course is designed for those tasked with managing their organisation’s tendering processes. Whether you are new to this role or have some experience this course will improve your approach to managing, writing and improving your organisational capability to tender.

Dr Daisy Yeung FRICS
Senior Teaching Fellow, City University of Hong Kong

 

Dr Daisy Yeung is a Fellow Member of RICS and an experienced APC Assessor. With over 20 years of experience in Quantity Surveying practice for the construction industry, she has worked with consultant firms, property companies and the public sectors in the capacity of contract manager.  Dr Yeung completed her PhD degree and joined City University of Hong Kong in 2002 where she now acts as a teaching Fellow and Associate programme leader for the surveying programme.  She has an established research area focusing on construction contracts and cost control performances.

Remarks:

  • The organiser reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the training at its discretion.
  • No refund or cancellation will be accepted, but a substitute delegate is normally permitted. Please inform the organiser of your substitute delegate at least 5 days before the training.
  • If a typhoon signal no. 8 or above, or black rainstorm warning is in force at least 3 hours before the programme is scheduled to begin, the training will be postponed until further notice. Otherwise, it will continue as scheduled.
  • Registration will only be confirmed upon receipt of completed registration form and full payment.
  • Upon completion of this event, a CPD certificate will be granted. A payment receipt along with the CPD certificate will be sent to you by email with 10 business days after the training.
