Description

We have the pleasure to announce that some of the most prominent dancers from La Scala Theatre Ballet will perform an outstanding, truly world-class programme.

Information about the dancers:

Claudio Coviello, Principal Dancer

Born in Potenza, in southern Italy, Claudio Coviello moved to Rome in his teens to pursue ballet studies at the dance school of Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, where he had the opportunity to meet Carla Fracci, one of the most acclaimed Italian ballerinas. After graduating in 2009, Claudio Coviello joined Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where he was appointed Principal Dancer in 2012. He has since performed major roles, such as Albrecht in “Giselle”, Lensky in “Onegin”, Siegfried in Nureyev’s “Swan Lake” and Romeo in MacMillan’s “Romeo and Juliet”. Claudio Coviello has toured around the world, including Brasil, China, Russia and many other countries. This is his second time performing in Hong Kong, where he danced with La Scala Ballet during the Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2014.

Martina Arduino, Principal Dancer

Martina Arduino started dancing in her native town near Turin, in northwestern Italy, at the age of 4. In 2007, she joined the Academy of Dance “Accademia Teatro alla Scala” in Milan, from which she graduated with highest honours in 2015. She later joined La Scala Theatre Ballet as a professional dancer, and she has been recently appointed Principal Dancer. Martina has performed in several main roles in renowned theatres both in Italy and abroad, including Odette/Odile in Alexei Ratmansky’s “Swan Lake” and Juliet in MacMillan’s “Romeo and Juliet”. She has received prestigious awards for her interpretations.

Mattia Semperboni, Corps de Ballet

Mattia Semperboni studied under the direction of Frédéric Olivieri at La Scala Theatre Ballet Academy, where he graduated in classical and contemporary dance in 2014. As a member of La Scala Theatre Corps de Ballet, he has performed in several productions both at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and abroad. Mattia Semperboni has danced in ballets such as “Swan Lake”, “Boléro”, “Nutcracker”, “Romeo and Juliet” and many others.

Nicoletta Manni, Principal Dancer

A member of the La Scala Theatre Ballet since 2009, Nicoletta Manni was promoted to Prima Ballerina in April 2014. Born in Galatina, in southeastern Italy, she began dancing as a little child, encouraged by her mother Anna De Matteis. When she was 12, she started training at the La Scala Theatre Ballet School, where she graduated in 2009. At the age of 17 she joined the Berlin State Ballet, but returned to La Scala four years later. Nicoletta Manni has performed the role of Myrtha in “Giselle” and Odette/Odile in “Swan Lake”. She has also performed as a soloist in George Balanchine's “Rubies”.

Over the years he has gained several awards, both in Italy and abroad. Timofejs Andrijašenko first joined the Ballet Company of Rome Opera and then, in 2014, La Scala Theatre Ballet in Milan. He has performed in leading roles in some of the major productions at La Scala Theatre and elsewhere. Since 2016 he has performed on a regular basis with La Scala’s Principal Dancer Étoile, Roberto Bolle, both in Ballet Galas and in TV shows.

After completing her training in classical dance at the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung in Munich under the direction of Kostanze Vernon, she collaborated with the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich, with the Ballett der Wiener Staatsoper und Volksoper in Vienna, and joined the Ballett Zürich as a Demi-Soloist. She has been a Soloist at La Scala Theatre Ballet since 2012.
