The Wave has just been certified by B Lab in the US as the 3rd B Corp in Hong Kong!

We are organizing a sort of CEO Open Forum – all you want to know about the B Corp idea, the certification process, benefits and challenges of becoming a certified B Corp, how to grow the B Corp movement in HK and China, and many more.

Exciting things are happening in Hong Kong! Last month, the third certified B Corp was born: The Wave (HK) Corporation Limited! The Wave is one of the first integrated platforms in Hong Kong to place a jointed social impact for startups, entrepreneurs, business owners, workers and consumers. The Wave can use business as a force to lead the way on community development, environmental ethics and cultural diversity.

Speakers Profiles:

Ms. Nicolette Tong is the Executive Vice President of The Wave. She is one of the founders of The Wave, is primarily responsible for the product, providing direction and the strategic development of the company. Nicolette was the Regional Vice President of Operations and IT with Compass Offices for 6 years. Being one of the founders, she had helped the company grown into over 30 centres located in 9 cities across Asia Pacific, Middle-east region and Eastern Europe with more than 300 employees. Nicolette was the Group General Manager at The Executive Centre, Hong Kong in 1999 to 2008 a position that helped the company developed corporate service standard which enable the company expanded from 3 to more than 30 locations in 16 cities with 9 years.

Dr. K K Tse is cofounder of Education for Good and Dialogue in the Dark, both are certified B Corp in Hong Kong. KK is the Founding Chair of Hong Kong Social Entrepreneurship Forum and co-founder of Dream Impact and Good Lab. He has held senior executive positions in the Shui On Group before setting up his own management consulting company, K K Tse & Associates in 1992. He retired early from 2000 onwards and has been active in promoting social entrepreneurship in Hong Kong. He is the first member of the Ashoka Support Network in Hong Kong since September, 2007. Since 2010, Dr. Tse became a member of the Government-appointed Social Enterprise Advisory Committee.

Ms. Cora Chu is the CEO of Dialogue in the Dark (HK) Limited. She was inspired to pursue her second career in DiD HK Limited in 2013 with key focus on transforming team culture and crystalizing key learning impacts of experiential learning workshop and entertaining events. Prior to joining DiD HK, Cora was the Director of Marketing for CSL leading the mobile corporate sales & marketing strategy. Previous to this, she was the Vice President of PCCW Global leading a global marketing & communications team. Cora holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Mr. Leung Ka Shing owns and operates KLG Fine Food Co. Ltd., a local seafood distributor. One of only seven Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified seafood distributors in Hong Kong (out of over 100), KLG Fine Food strives to provide its customers with the highest quality seafood, a majority of which is responsibly raised or caught.

Ms. Joyce Leung is the cofounder of Eldage, a social enterprise focusing on inter-generation communication through traditional arts and culture. Eldage is funded by Fimmick, leading digital marketing agency with offices in Hong Kong and Taiwan and projects spanning the globe, the first Hong Kong agency to receive a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer Badge (Apps).

Ms Natalie Chan is the Managing Director of PIE Strategy Limited. Previously, she was the Director of Group Sustainability of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels in 2011 to lead the Group’s global strategy on corporate responsibility and sustainability, which included devising the Group’s long-term vision for sustainable luxury. Prior to joining HSH, she was with the Swire Group, managing group‐level corporate responsibility policies and strategies. Natalie also worked at the South China Morning Post in managing its community investment and engagement programme. She is a Certified Carbon Auditor of The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), and holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Environmental Governance from the University of Hong Kong.
