Seto (SUDA Masaki) is eccentric and outgoing. In contrast, Utsumi (IKEMATSU Sosuke) is cool and smart, but antisocial. The two high-school boys are poles apart, but share a common daily routine - spending their afterschool hours just chattering with one another by a riverbed. Teen films can be neither romantic, nor passionate. They can be very “ordinary”.

OMORI Tatsushi won the 2013 Blue Ribbon Award for Best Director for The Ravine Of Goodbye (2013). He is experienced in directing films adapted from manga or fiction, producing well-received titles such as Tada's Do-It-All House (2011) and Every Day A Good Day (2018). Want to know how OMORI handles this “Kansai boys’ dialogue-based comedy”? Just come and see!

Post-screening Talk: The road to be a voice actor

Guest speakers: Mr. Eric Christopher Chow, Mr. Sora Kwan

Lecture: 9:00 pm

In Cantonese. Registration is not required. However, priority will be given to audience of Seto and Utsumi on the same day.

When a manga is adapted into an anime, the characters need voices; when it is adapted to a live-action film or drama and exported overseas, lines in the local language may also be necessary. These are all jobs for a voice actor. What disciplines do you need to overcome to be a voice actor? What are the possible paths for a voice actor in Hong Kong? Two Hong Kong born voice actors, who have been training in Japan, will share with us their precious experience.

About the Guests

Mr. Eric Christopher Chow became a professional voice actor, joined the dubbing section of TVB in 2010 and has been active in the industry since then. He has been the Cantonese voices of main characters in many animations, as well as Japanese and Korean dramas. Representative works include Psychic Kusuo (2018). Eric is now a teacher of voice acting, and at the same time the president of Hong Kong Voice Acting.

Mr. Sora Kwan graduated from the Voice actor and Vocalist course of the Institute of Sound Arts in Tokyo in 2016. Subsequently, he signed an exclusive artist contract with Stunning Artist Academy and started his profession in acting. In 2018, he won the championship of Hong Kong Voice Acting’s Voiced-manga voice acting contest (Japanese session) in Comic World Hong Kong 46. He later joined the organisation and is now on one of its committees.
