Are You a NPC? 你係咪NPC?

在當今數位時代，我們的社交行為和思考模式越來越受到科技、媒體與演算法的影響。就像遊戲中的 NPC（Non-Player Character）按照既定程式行動，未曾真正自主思考；那麼，我們在日常生活中，是否也在不自覺地重複他人設計好的「劇本」？看似自主的決定，又是否早已被寫入命運的原始碼？

是次講座邀請《哲學有傾偈傾》的兩位主持：李敬恒博士（大師兄 Roger） 與李康廷博士（四哥），從電玩「非玩家角色」（NPC）的比喻出發，拆解一系列關乎「我」為何物的哲學問題。無論你是數位原住民，還是對哲學抱有好奇，本講座都將帶你檢視個人行為、挑戰思維習慣，助你走出「NPC」的籠牢，成為自己人生的主角。

In today’s digital age, our social behaviors and thought patterns are increasingly shaped by technology, media, and algorithms. Much like NPCs (Non-Player Characters) in video games, who act according to pre-set programming without genuine autonomy, are we unconsciously following "scripts" designed by others in our daily lives? Are the decisions we believe to be our own already encoded in the source code of fate?

This talk features the hosts of Philosophy Night (《哲學有偈傾》), Dr. Roger Lee and Dr. Li Hong Ting will use the metaphor of video game NPCs to explore philosophical questions about the nature of “self.” Whether you're a digital native or simply curious about philosophy, this talk will encourage you to examine your behaviors, challenge habitual ways of thinking, and break free from the "NPC cage" to become the protagonist of your own life.

李敬恆博士 Dr Lee King Hang

李敬恆博士於香港中文大學哲學系取得文學士、哲學碩士及哲學博士學位。畢業後，李博士曾於多間大專院校任教，包括香港專上學院（HKCC）、香港中文大學（CUHK）、香港浸會大學（HKBU）及香港教育大學（EdUHK）。2013年，他加入明愛專上學院（CIHE）人文及語言學院，擔任高級講師及通識文憑課程主任，並於2015年至2019年間擔任學院署理副院長。

除了正式教學外，李博士亦積極推廣哲學於本地社區，為香港中央圖書館、本地書店、中學及不同性質的非政府組織舉辦了多場講座及研討會。2018年，李博士獲香港電台邀請，成為廣受好評的電視節目《哲學有偈傾》的主持之一，直至2020年最後一季。

此外，李博士亦定期於本地媒體發表有關藝術、文學及教育的文章，向公眾推廣相關知識。

Dr Lee King Hang obtained his BA, MPhil and PhD from the Department of Philosophy of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. After graduation, Dr Lee had taught in various tertiary institutes, including HKCC, CUHK, HKBU and EdUHK, before joining the School of Humanities and Languages of CIHE in 2013 as senior lecturer and the program leader of Diploma of General Studies. He took up the post of Acting Associate Dean of the School from 2015 to 2019.

Besides formal teaching, Dr Lee has also been engaging actively in the promotion and popularization of philosophy in the local community, delivering numerous talks and seminars for the Hong Kong Central Library, local bookstores, secondary schools and NGOs of various nature. In 2018, Dr Lee was invited by RTHK to be one of the hosts of their highly acclaimed TV talk show Philosophy Night (《哲學有偈傾》) until its last season in 2020.

He also has articles on arts, literature and education published regularly on local media, targeting at the general public.

李康庭博士 Dr Li Hong-ting

李康庭博士於香港理工大學取得設計文學士（榮譽）（文化與設計），其後於香港中文大學取得哲學碩士、哲學碩士（MPhil）及哲學博士學位。

在加入本機構之前，李博士曾於多間高等教育院校擔任兼職講師，教授課程包括美學、藝術史、電影藝術、倫理學及哲學史。

Dr Li Hong-ting obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Design (Culture and Design) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He then obtained his MA in Philosophy, MPhil in Philosophy, and PhD in Philosophy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Prior to joining this institution, Dr Li worked as a part-time lecturer in various higher education institutions. Courses he taught included Aesthetics, Art History, Art of Film, Ethics, and History of Philosophy.
